AdNews introduces The Diversity Award at Agency of the Year

By AdNews | 3 June 2021

AdNews has introduced a new category, The Diversity Award, for this year’s AdNews Agency of the Year Awards.

This award recognises company and/or agency initiatives to promote diversity within their own business and/or the broader industry.

It celebrates those ideas and programs that are making a true difference in enhancing adland to become a more diverse and inclusive industry to work in.

JUDGING CRITERIA
Judges will look for initiatives which have had real impact in addressing diversity within an area of the business/industry. Weighting as follows:

  • 30%: on the purpose and objectives of the initiative
  • 30%: on how it was executed
  • 40%: on the results (i.e. how have you achieved the objectives of the initiative)

TikTok is the inaugural sponsor for the new award.

Brett Armstrong, general manager of TikTok Global Business Solutions, Australia and New Zealand, says the business chose to sponsor the award as it embodies exactly what TikTok is about.

"On TikTok, diverse communities from all around the world have found a home for authentic self-expression, acceptance and connection,” Armstrong says.

“Celebrating and elevating diverse voices is at the very heart of our platform.

“We're thrilled to see AdNews championing diversity and inclusion right here in our local industry with the launch of this new category and it's an honour to be the inaugural sponsor of an award that embodies our values as a business, as a platform and as a place to work."
