News streaming platform Ticker News has appointed Jackson Williams as its first international correspondent.

Williams will be based in Singapore, providing news and analysis for the online-only news channel which covers the business, technology and aviation sectors.

Williams previously worked as the Sky News New Zealand correspondent.

Williams marks the first international appointment for Ticker since it launched in 2019.

Rather than adopting a traditional advertising model, the platform has used a mix of branded content and sponsorship packages to grow its business.

“It’s great to have Jackson on board in this hugely important role for us,” Ticker CEO and Founder Ahron Young says.

“I couldn’t think of anyone better. This is now the third time I’ve hired Jackson, including twice at Sky! It’s wonderful to work with friends. Welcome back.”

Ticker says it expects to announce further international roles across Europe and the US.

The news streaming platform was founded by former Sky News journalist Young and had grown to capture more than four million views in 20 days across all its platforms.
