Activist group Comms Declare, working to convince agencies away from working with fossil fuel companies, is expanding its reach beyond the advertising world to media and clients.
A rebrand by Paper Moose reignites Comms Declare's visual and verbal presence as it celebrates its fifth year advancing ethical, climate-conscious communications across Australia's advertising, PR and media sectors.
Founded as a call for agencies to pledge "no fossil fuel clients", Comms Declare has evolved into an advocate for responsible and ethical practice.
"It's inspiring to work with a brand so dedicated to positive change," said Kenn Huang, head of design at Paper Moose.
"Drawing on (Dutch painter) Mondrian, I aimed for a clean, essential design."
"The 'd' uses negative space as a nod to nature and our region. Some see a baby kiwi, echidna, or leaf."
"The lowercase form keeps the logo honest, inclusive and approachable, just like the brand."
Paper Moose worked with Comms Declare to define the brand's purpose, mission, values and proposition, then distilled the organisation's voice into a clear, passionate and optimistic tone.
Silver Lining, another B Corp agency, created the Clean Directory for Comms Declare's new website, making it simple for businesses to find partners committed to fossil fuel-free supply chains.
"We're choosing momentum over perfection, with a new pledge for members and offerings for media and clients," said Belinda Noble, founder of Comms Declare.
"The economy is under massive transformation and the smart communicators are switching sides to clean solutions now."
Comms Declare is a registered charity that represents dozens of communications agencies and hundreds of professionals across advertising, marketing and media.
