ABC television's election night coverage on Saturday attracted an audience of 4,092,000 to watch the Labor Party's landslide.
Seven claimed the title of the first to call the election result, Anthony Albanese the winner, at 8.08 pm on Saturday.
“We delivered on our promise to call the election first, thanks to our investment in cutting-edge technology, which was analysed quickly and accurately by Hugh Whitfeld and our panel of political insiders,” said West Media editor-in-chief Anthony De Ceglie.
7News’s live results recorded 2,782,000 and Nine’s election night live 2,418,000.
On the ABC, analyst Antony Green called his last poll for the public broadcaster after more than three decades.
According to VOZ via OzTAM, 13,321,000 watched television, either broadcast of BVOD, on Saturday.
