Uber Eats is imagining what happens when a Ding Dong Deal lands at exactly the wrong moment in a campaign via Special and EssenceMediacom.
From involuntary expletives in commentary boxes to customer service announcements gone wrong, the campaign features AFL commentator Matt ‘Richo’ Richardson, Kiwi sports star Ian Smith and Adam Goodes.
“The best sporting moments spark an immediate reaction. Ding Dong Deals tap into that same sense of excitement, delivering unexpected value that's worthy of a reaction of its own,” said Uber Eats ANZ marketing manager, delivery, Holly Dover.
The Australian campaign will air as part of Uber Eats’ broadcast sponsorship of the AFL on Seven Network while the New Zealand spot will run across the Rugby Championship.
The Ding Dong Deals campaign launches in Australia and New Zealand on June 29 across TV, B/SVOD, OLV, Social, Audio (Linear Radio and Spotify), OOH and CRM.
“Like the deals, this campaign was made to be [DING DONG] attention-grabbing,” said Special ECD Simon Gibson and Nils Eberhardt.
“Hopefully nobody watches it while standing near a hot mic.”
