The retailer will donate skincare and beauty products to national community service program Look Good Feel Better.

Australian retailer Sportsgirl is supporting the sisterhood with the launch of its Beauty Give Back campaign in partnership with Look Good Feel Better.

Look Good Feel Better is a national community service program dedicated to teaching cancer patients how to manage the appearance side effects caused by cancer treatment through complementary workshops.

The Beauty Give Back campaign will see Sportsgirl donate skincare and beauty products to Look Good Feel Better as well as install a series of pop-up in-store beauty stands from October 28 encouraging people to buy and donate for those in need.

"Our workshops are designed to empower cancer patients to face their cancer treatment with confidence," Cancer Patients Foundation and Look Good Feel Better general manager Carol Kavurma says.

Workshops are delivered by 1,300 trained cosmetic, beauty and hairdressing professionals who volunteer their time and expertise to provide participants with the tips and tricks to assist patients with the appearance-related side effects of their treatment.

Each participant receives a complimentary confidence kit and an instruction booklet to use in the workshop and take home for continued use.

Participants also benefit from the opportunity to meet and bond with others in a similar situation in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

"Over 130,000 people in Australia undergoing cancer treatment have participated in the Look Good Feel Better program so we want to help provide these workships with the beauty products they need to facilitate them," Sportsgirl national marketing manager Kate Rees says.

"We know our customers will want to help this very worthy cause too so they can donate in our five participating stores by making a Sportsgirl beauty donation in one of our charity bins."

The Beauty Banks will initially launch in five Sportsgirl stores: Bourke Street, Bondi, Queen Street, Booragoon and Rundle Mall.

The retailer plans to roll out the charity initiative into more stores for Christma.
