The disability service provider aims to humanise disability.

South Australia disability services provider, Orana, has launched its first ever television advertising campaign to dispel myths often associated with people with a disability.

Long-time Orana employee Jamie, who has autism and an intellectual disability, is the star of the commercial which focuses on a day in his life – from getting ready in the morning to working in a happy environment at Orana.

The TV commercial, 'We are Orana', has been developed by Norwood-based advertising agency Blackbocks.

Blackbocks CEO Brenton Bock says the challenge was to introduce Orana to the South Australia community by creating a ‘hero’ of one of the employees.

“Although, we focus on one of the ‘heroes’ it was very evident that Orana is an organisation that creates opportunities for all of its clients.”

Orana CEO Nick Mihlaras says with recent changes to the disability sector it is more important than ever that Orana increases its brand awareness in the community.

The TV commercial will be rolled out on television, both in metropolitan and regional areas, cinema and digital.
