Megan Gale gets her active wear on for Tourism New Zealand.

Tourism New Zealand and Whybin\TBWA has announced Megan Gale as the first ever ambassador to promote cycling to the Australian market.

The international model and TV personality has signed on to promote the New Zealand Cycle Trail (NZCT).
In the spot, Gale explores the off-road cycle trails showcasing the great sights New Zealand has to offer including the best of the country’s wine, culture, history, nature and scenery. During her journey on the Otago Central Rail Trail and The Timber Trail, Gale is accompanied by locals including cycling Olympic gold medallist Sarah Ulmer, cross-country cycling Commonwealth Games silver medalist Sam Gaze and celebrity chef and writer Annabel Langbein.

The social and digital elements will see Gale endorse The Great Rides that are suitable for all ages, cycling tastes and levels.

Tourism New Zealand general manager, Australia Tony Saunders, says he is confident in Gale’s influence and authentic connection added that her mother is Māori, will increase awareness and preference for New Zealand as a cycling destination.

Since 2009, the New Zealand Government and local communities have invested over NZD$80 million into developing The NZCT for both experienced and leisure cyclists.

Late last year Tourism New Zealand launched its first content series created by Whybin\TBWA Sydney, breaking the tourism category norm.
