Budget Direct brings back Sarge for Extra-Terrestrial campaign

Sarge and Jacs are back in Budget Direct's latest campaign called Extra-Terrestrial created by 303 MullenLowe.

Budget Direct has launched the next instalment fronted by special detective Sarge.

The first commercial in the next phase of the campaign, called Extra-Terrestrial, sees the Sarge and his sidekick Jacs facing off a huge alien intruder who is attacking the streets of the CBD.

During their quest to protect the city, Sarge and Jacs spot a newsstand and are more impressed to learn that Budget Direct are Money magazine’s Insurer of the Year for the third year running than by any alien activity.

“The last phase of the campaign was all about setting up the character of Sarge and the ‘Insurance Solved’ idea," 303 MullenLowe executive creative director Gary McCreadie says.

“This time we could just hit the ground running. This spot is about Budget Direct winning Money magazine Insurer of the Year three years in a row. That’s massive news.

“And for Sarge, that’s a bigger deal than anything else that could happen - even an alien invasion."

The campaign continues the new ‘Insurance Solved’ positioning for Budget Direct.

“With the Insurance Solved platform taking hold, we’re in a great position to drive even faster growth through our award-winning insurance, standout advertising and the simple questioning of why Australians are paying so much for their insurance,” Budget Direct CMO Jonathan Kerr says.

The spot was shot by Danny Kleinman through Rattling Stick/Goodoil Films and photographed by Mat Baker through Louis & Co.

The creative will run across TV, cinema, online, outdoor/indoor display and radio channels.
