Daniel Ricciardo’s first Grand Prix with Renault Sport F1 yesterday coincided with his first local on-screen appearance for the European manufacturer.

The ‘Make the Move’, TV campaign launched on Sunday during the airing of the Rolex 2019 Australian Grand Prix, featured Daniel Ricciardo and the Renault Koleos SUV, attracted the talents of Stephen Windon, of Fast and the Furious notoriety.

Devised by creative agency Big Red, the campaign brings to life the essence of why Ricciardo made the move to the Renault F1 team back in October 2018.

The ‘Make the Move’ draws heavily on the article written by Ricciardo following his decision to move to Renault at the end of the 2018 season. The passion that Daniel has for Formula 1 echoes the "Passion for Life" tagline that underpins Renault’s global brand positioning.

“It was important for us to stay true to what motivated Daniel’s decision to move to the Renault F1® Team. For us, it’s all about capturing the competitive spirit that Daniel possesses, and how this resonates with a local audience,” says Andrew Moore, managing director at Renault Australia.

The above-the-line campaign will be supported by a range of digital activity, including a video in which Daniel explains his move to Renault, and a range of behind-the-scenes footage from the Make the Move shoot, to go live following the on-air debut.
