Airbnb compares us all to a little toddler, taking its first brave steps down a hallway and out of its parents' house...

Airbnb is rolling out a new campaign across TV and digital in Australia as of tomorrow, playing to the adventurous child in all of us.

A minute long, it depicts a child, just about able to walk, heading down a hallway towards a door. The child isn't trying to escape (we hope), but drawn to the light and the chance to maybe step foot outside.

Airbnb claims that the research from the last seven years shows that its service works because of the kindness hosts show towards their guests, putting them at rest in foreign locations and giving them confidence to explore their surroundings. Like that child, apparently.

“The breakthrough of Airbnb is that it does more than give you a place to sleep – it changes the way you experience the world,” says Airbnb CEO and co-founder Brian Chesky. “Because when we trust in the kindness of our fellow man, we discover that the world isn’t such a scary place after all.”
