News Corp has kicked off a campaign to promote its 'Best & Fairest' player game cards in the Herald Sun and The Advertiser to coincide with the launch of the 2014 AFL season.

The TV campaign, created by AJF Partnership, features last season's Best & Fairest winners, including Kade Simpson from the Carlton Blues, Nathan Jones from the Melbourne Demons and Rory Sloane from the Adelaide Crows, being 'delivered' with the newspaper.

News Corp Australia group director of marketing Damian Eales said: "The AFL is part of the fabric of Victorian and South Australian communities. The game instils a sense of pride with locals.

"The official AFL game cards are highly sought-after in school playgrounds across these states and I'm thrilled to be giving our readers in these regions another reason to purchase the Herald Sun or The Advertiser."

Produced by official AFL game card publisher Team Zone, the cards will be available to readers from Saturday and then every day for a further nine days before the 2014 series goes on sale on 24 March.

Team Zone publisher David S. Miller said: "We’re pleased to be partnering with the Herald Sun and The Advertiser to provide our official 2014 Best & Fairest game card series exclusively to their readers. These newspapers are the go-to resource for the biggest and best AFL news in their respective states. To partner with them, we are ensuring our cards receive the broadest coverage to the game's fans."
