CANNES: The Aussie Contigent

21 June 2010

Day One

Well we've been here for a little over 24 hours now and I'm proud to say that the Aussie contingent is formidable. Whilst it seems all of us flew via different airlines and via different stop-overs we all managed to settle into our hotels by around midday on Saturday and then made our way to Morrison's - a slightly hidden Irish pub in Cannes.

There were around 20 Aussies watching our country draw the soccer and enjoying a few pints of Amstel. Our Australian re presentative judge, Mr Peter Horgan, was cheering up a storm and seemed just fine despite the amount of judging he was in the middle of.

Maura and Eb (Australia Media Young Lions team) seemed remarkably calm yet extremely jet-lagged. Also present were some more from UM and a contingent from Ikon.

After a few more beers and some dinner, by 9pm it was time to call it a night.
