SYDNEY: Good News Week will screen on Network Ten after Easter, in the same timeslot as The Panel Ñ 9:30pm Ñ but on a different night. The program will run in an hour timeslot, giving it about 20 minutes more content than it had on the ABC in a half hour timeslot.Ten has also commissioned a 90 minute weekly variety show from the Good News Week team. Like Good News Weekend, which ran on the ABC on Saturday nights in an hour timeslot, the new show will feature the Triple J radio stars Flacco and The Sandman, along with the three ongoing stars of Good News Week Ñ Paul McDermott, Julie McRossin, and Mikey Robins.Ten is yet to reveal which day of the week it will run either the variety show, which has not been named, or Good News Week.Grant Blackley, Ten national sales manager, said he expects Good News Week to appeal to TenÕs core 18 to 24 demographic, but also to strengthen the networkÕs performance among 25 to 39 year-olds and 40 to 50 year-olds.He said the later timeslot would allow Ten to give the provocative satire as much autonomy as it had on the ABC without breaching the television code of conduct.
