Woolworths group marketing boss Kurt Kamp set to exit

Kurt Kamp, the most senior marketing figure at Woolworths Limited, is set to leave the company just a year after taking the specially created role.

Woolworths has confirmed Kamp is stepping down.

Kamp, who was formerly chief marketing officer of Asian Hypermarket chain Tesco Lotus, was appointed in September 2012 to oversee the entire Woolworths Limited marketing portfolio, including Woolworths supermarkets, retail chain Big W, liquor stores BWS and Dan Murphy's, Masters Home Improvement, hotels and petrol stations.

The marketing unit at Woolworths Limited, particularly in the supermarkets division, has recently been in a state of flux. Former marketing boss of the supermarkets unit, Lizzy Ryley, was recently moved to head up the brand's customer loyalty division. After her move, Kamp took on a more active role in supermarkets while retaining his group marketing position, until the company hired Growth Mantra head of marketing strategy Jess Gill to handle the top marketing job for supermarkets.

AdNews understands Kamp is still officially with the company, but will be leaving in a matter of days.
