The Iconic is boosting its marketing and loyalty capabilities with the appointment of both a marketing director and a head of customer retention.

Former Westfield senior marketer Sally Bonner is taking on the marketing director role and Clare Zacka, who joins from BrandsExclusive will head up the customer retention function tasked with driving loyalty and increasing customer retention.

She has also worked with David Jones American Express and CBA's Commonwealth Awards programmes.

The hires come at the start of what CEO Patrick Schmidt says will be a “year of strategic growth” for the online retailer, which launched in 2011.

A year ago, The Iconic reportedly culled a number of marketing roles as part of cost cutting effort.

Schmidt said: “The Iconic is a company with great people, a clear strategy to sustainable success and total commitment to delivering an unparalleled customer experience, supported by amazing products, great service and the latest technology.

“We have an amazing team which constantly wants to push the boundaries in customer experience and these appointments, with their extensive experience and impressive track records, reinforce that commitment.”

The Iconic surpassed more than 1 million orders last year, 250 000 app downloads and claims a 90% NPS rating.

The retailer has also appointed Adrian Gribbin as CFO.
