Telstra’s advertising and directories arm Sensis has cut another 80 jobs, as the struggling business continues to attempt to move into the digital space.
A spokesperson for Sensis confirmed the job cuts to AdNews. Several of the jobs are marketing roles, as well as finance, IT and corporate affairs.
With the 80 jobs that have now been cut, Sensis has seen around 200 redundancies in 2011. Recently, the company has struggled to offset the downfall of its print business Yellow Pages with digital sales.
Telstra is in the midst of merging its BigPond, Sensis and Classifieds advertising operations into a single unit called Telstra Advertising Network. The new entity is led by Telstra stalwart Michael Padden, and sits in the Telstra, Innovation Products and Marketing division.
About half of the affected people are leaving Sensis this week, with the rest departing in coming months. It is unclear if further redundancies are planned.
