Seven West Media chief operating officer Rohan Lund has confirmed that he will leave Seven West Media. He told AdNews that there was still some transitioning work to see through but that he would bow out once that was completed. Despite speculation linking him to a role at Foxtel or the NBN Co. Lund said his next move was undecided.

Lund's exit will come as no surprise following the appointment of Tim Worner as CEO in May. It was understood Lund would then help see through a broad programme of transformation before departing around the end of the year.

Worner is expected to announce further structural changes to the business in the coming weeks. That rehaul has been anticipated for some time. Seven West Media chief sales and digital officer Kurt Burnette flagged to AdNews last month that the changes could be wholesale. He said the main take-outs from his Stanford 'super MBA' has been the need to “get set up for change or get left behind – in day-to-day business or future structure”.

With Lund handing in his notice, a complete restructure of the business could now be accelerated.

“Seven has always been very good to me. It’s a great company, filled with exceptionally talented people," he said. "Tim will put his stamp on the business with his new structure and team. I’ve got no doubt the business will continue to be hugely successful.

“I want to see through what we’ve started and make sure some of the key transformation programs remain on track then I’ll transition out of the business.”

Asked whether the speculation linking him to opportunities were true, Lund said he had not made up his mind.

“[I'm] not sure what’s around the corner after that."
