Cosmetics giant Revlon has appointed MediaCom Australia to handle its media account, following a global consolidation with the WPP-owned agency.

In 2009, Revlon moved its US and Canadian media accounts to MediaCom from Aegis-owned Carat. Following this move, MediaCom Australia was involved in a media review in 2010, however the account remained with incumbent Initiative. .

The account has now moved to the WPP agency without a pitch. Initiative has held the account since 2004.

The global appointment is being spearheaded out of MediaCom’s New York office.

MediaCom North America chief executive Harvey Goldhersz said: “We’re honored and excited to be deepening and broadening our successful partnership with our friends at Revlon. We look forward to applying our current insights and client expertise to Revlon’s global business to drive powerful business wins for Revlon.”

Revlon has a number of makeup, nails, skincare, haircare and fragrance lines in Australia. It also has a local presence with Almay Cosmetics and Mitchum deodorant brands.
