ADMA boss appointed as global direct chair
ADMA chief executive Jodie Sangster has been appointed chairman of the International Federation of Direct Marketing Associations. The international body consists of 23 direct marketing associations worldwide. Sangster will be setting the agenda for global discussions relating to the industry.

Woman's Day launches Your Day
Woman's Day has launched a magazine within its magazine titled Your Day. The new 36-page magazine will canvass food, homes and style. The magazine will kick off with 30 recipes and will also cover home and garden, kitchen, fashion and beauty ideas.

OMD appoints SEO director
OMD has appointed Tamar London head of search Grant Baxter as SEO director, following the agency's Tourism Australia win. He will be based in Sydney and will report to OMD head of digital Paul Elliott.

FremantleMedia Enterprises sells Winners & Losers
FremantleMedia Enterprises, the brand extension arm of FremantleMedia, has sold Seven Network's drama Winners & Losers to UK digital channel ITV2. The series will run on ITV2 in 2012. The show premiered in Australia on the Seven Network in March of this year.

GetUp throws support behind pokies reform
Lobby group GetUp has thrown its weight behind proposed poker machine reforms, launching a campaign during the NRL grand final. The ads take aim at Clubs Australia, and warn of the dangers of problem gambling.

Foxtel bolsters senior ranks
Foxtel has appointed three people to its senior management team, The Australian Financial Review has reported. Foxtel has hired director of viewer marketing at UK company ITV, Rob Farmer, as brand manager. He will report to the company's marketing head Chantal Walker. Foxtel appointed SVP broadcast operations at Sky Deutschland GmbH & Co KG, Jim Rudder, as executive director of product. Former Open TV Asia Pacific general manager Mike Ivan chenko has also been hired as head of technology delivery.

UM appoints communications strategist
UM has appointed former Intel Chicago digital strategist Kristine Ballensky as communications strategist, as the agency looks to beef up its digital offering. Ballensky has also worked previously for OMD in Chicago. At UM, she will work on clients such as Sony, Lego, MasterCard and Lindt. 

Art gallery launched at BCM agency
Brisbane agency BCM has launched an art gallery. Partnering with Artisan Gallery, the gallery will be called 'Crucible' and will host four exhibitions per year. It will be curated by Tasha Finn who has previously worked for public and private galleries in South-East Queensland. BCM will also curate its own art exhibitions throughout the year with staff having the chance to submit ideas for exhibitions and ultimately be appointed as a 'Guest Curator' for that exhibition.

Aegis launches Columbus in Brisbane
Aegis Media has launched a Brisbane office for search agency Columbus. The agency will initially serve clients of Mitchell & Partners and emitch, with a view to growing its own local client base. Columbus already has offices in Sydney and Melbourne.
