Macquarie Uni launches marketing degree
Macquarie University in Sydney will introduce a Bachelor of Marketing and Media in 2012 to meet demands from students and industry. The university claims it is the first program of its kind in a New South Wales university. The degree will look at the media and marketing landscape, with an emphasis on theory. Areas of study include marketing strategy and analysis, brand management, digital and social media.
Centurion magazine launches website
Centurion, the global magazine for American Express, has launched its online platform. Centurion-magazine.com aims to provide travel and lifestyle news, events, launches and editorial that's not featured in the magazine.
Procter departs Y&R Singapore
Y&R Singapore chief creative officer James Procter is due to leave the agency after 18 months in the role. Procter joined the Singapore office from George Patterson Y&R Sydney where he was executive creative director for just over a year. In Australia, Procter has also worked at Cummins Nitro and Clemenger BBDO.
APN uses bus to spruik research findings
Out-of-home operator APN Outdoor has used a MaxiWrap bus to advertise findings from its Transit Momentum Neuroscience study. The bus is covered with the messages, "Moving messages are two times more likely to be remembered" and "increase brand saliency by 100%".
NRMA unveils parking game app
NRMA Insurance has launched an iPhone app called Car Park Challenge. The app is a 10-level game designed to test driving skills in a stressful environment. The app is available from iPhone App store and will soon be launched for the iPad and Android platforms.
