EXCLUSIVE: News Limited’s recently formed sales arm, News Australia – Sales (NAS), has named its senior team, following the appointment of chief commercial officer Tony Prentice.

NewsNet NSW sales director Neil Robinson has been named NAS commercial director.

News Digital Media national sales director Nicola Lewis will become NAS NSW sales director, while NewsNet Victoria sales director Ashley Sheard will take up the position of NAS Victorian sales director.

The appointments will answer to Prentice, who moved from his role as News Digital Media commercial director last month. Their previous roles have become redundant under News Limited’s new commercial structure.

Prentice told AdNews: “Our stable of premium brands, which attract an audience unmatched in its breadth and depth, now give us an incredible opportunity to grow revenue and share. Our challenge is to realise this opportunity and make the most of being Australia’s only truly integrated sales team, offering unrivalled audience-led solutions.

“Together Neil, Nicola and Ashley will make up one of the strongest and most respected sales management teams in Australia.

Between them they have decades of experience at the highest levels of newspapers, magazines and digital. More importantly, their relationships with our agency and advertising partners are second to none.”

The launch of NAS follows a raft of changes under the newly appointed chief executive Kim Williams.

The group will work across News Limited’s newspapers, newspaper magazines and digital products. The new division will see NewsNet, News Digital Media and Newspaper Inserted Magazines divisions merging.

Prentice reports to News Limited’s deputy director of sales Fiorella Di Santo. He joined News Digital Media in 2008 and is the current chairman of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB).
