Simon Bloomfield has joined MercerBell.

Sydney agency MercerBell has recruited industry heavyweight Simon Bloomfield as its new creative group head. He will lead the Toyota and MasterCard accounts and joins MercerBell immediately.

Bloomfield was most recently joint creative group head at OgilvyOne Sydney, and prior to that, held leadership roles at Clemenger Proximity, Hryo and Havas.

MercerBell executive creative director David Bell said: “Someone of Simon’s immense experience is a rare find and we are thrilled to welcome him to the creative team".

Bloomfield said: “I’ve known Nick and David for some time, and both have had an immeasurable influence on my career. I always had a feeling I’d work with them at some stage, and the chance to join them in a role such as this – where I can really contribute to the success of the agency – seemed like the perfect opportunity. They are an agency on the rise, with a real eye to the future, and I look forward to playing an important part in that.”
