MediaCom lands REA Group

MediaCom Melbourne has been appointed to REA Group winning the business from incumbent Starcom.

REA Group specialises in real estate classifieds and offers online advertising opportunities on its sites which include RealEstate and RealCommercial.

Starcom, the incumbent on the account, has recently had a run of bad luck. It lost General Motors in January and Sony in March - Sony in fact put its media account to pitch without including Starcom (the media agency has however been tipped as the likely winner of the valuable $70 million Optus account).

While a spokesperson at MediaCom has confirmed the appointment, the Melbourne team's head of client communications and planning, Naomi Johnston, was not available for comment at the time of publication.

The agency will be responsible for planning, buying and communications strategy.
