Woolworths-owned bottle shop chain BWS is reviewing its creative advertising account and has called for proposals from interested agencies. The firm wants to promote its strategic rebrand and store expansion across the country. Expressions of interest must be received by close of business on Monday.

Sydney agency GHO is the incumbent. Andrew Hicks, GM marketing for the Woolworths Liquor Group, said it was "the right time to review" and that GHO would be invited to pitch.

“We have enjoyed a great relationship with GHO Sydney over many years and are proud of the work we’ve produced together. We have valued their enthusiasm and knowledge of the BWS brand and their commitment to its growth,” he added.

The company said it wants to hear from innovative, digital savvy agencies with a demonstrated ability to work within a fast paced retail environment.

Agencies will be assessed by a Steering Committee comprising of marketing, merchandise and operations representatives from within the Woolworths Liquor Group. Short listed agencies will then be invited to participate in a Request for Proposal during July.

The firm stated that:

Interested agencies should describe in no more than two pages their agency management structure, ownership, major clients and billings and case studies or experience that would best illustrate how they might add value to the BWS business.

Submissions need to be accompanied by a signed NDA which can be obtained by contacting Demian Thornhill, Procurement Category Manager via email dthornhill@woolworths.com.au.

Responses must be received by 5pm on Monday, 17 June and should be addressed to Kristen Linders, Head of Strategic Marketing Projects at gpsupplierqueries@woolworths.com.au. No late responses will be considered.

The review does not include other Woolworths Liquor Group.
