Lipton enlists The Muppets for first global ads

Unilever is introducing the first global positioning for its Lipton tea brand, and has enlisted the Muppets' Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and Animal for the first ads.

'Be More Tea' is the strapline as the brand highlights the stress-relieving properties of tea. The only way to deal with dating Miss Piggy, apparently, is to relax with a cup of Lipton.

Litpton will air the ad for the first time in the US during The Oscars on Monday (3 March) and it will roll out worldwide throughout the year.

The ad was created by adam&eve DDB London and coincides with the upcoming release of the Muppets movie Muppets Most Wanted.

“We live in a busy world. It's easy to slip into a routine with our heads down, moving from one place or obligation to the next. Lipton wants to inspire consumers to 'look up', take in all that life has to offer and enjoy what you may have otherwise missed. This is what 'Be More Tea' means to Lipton and the philosophy we will bring to life in our new national ad campaign starring the Muppets,” said Alfie Vivian, vice president of refreshments for Lipton’s parent company Unilever.
