Financial services brand ING Direct has opened a review of its agency arrangements, encompassing creative, media and digital.

The pitch will be by invitation only with appointments to be finalised by early 2012. ING's current agency partners include Belgiovane Williams Mackay, Jack Watts Currie, The Dubs and Mindshare.

JackWattsCurrie joined the ING roster in 2008 after splitting with Spinach. BWM was appointed in 2009 as the brand's direct marketing agency. Mindshare started working with the bank in 1999.

Last year, the brand replaced brand ambassador Scottish comedian Billy Connolly with an animated orangutan named Charles. The "Charles" campaigns were created by Jack Watts Currie.

ING Direct spent an estimated $17.7 million on main media spend in the 12 months to August 2011, down from $18 million in the prior period, according to Nielsen.
