Gumtree creative account in play

Gumtree is pitching its creative account, AdNews has learnt. The company would not comment on the process, but it is in market and starting to move beyond the initial phase.

Gumtree is a subsidiary of auction site eBay, which is also on the hunt for a new ad agency after taking on Havas for its Christmas campaign. Leo Burnett had previously handled the account. That pitch is understood to be at a more advanced phase and likely to wrap up this quarter.

The two sites, while owned by the same company, are competitors.

Gumtree has previously worked with production house locally on an ad hoc basis.

Production house Storyhead last year created a series of four local spots for the global trading site.
