Car brand Fiat Chrysler Group has signed on to be the principal sponsor of Network Ten's forthcoming cooking format Masterchef: The Professionals.

The competition, hosted by international chef Marco Pierre White and food critic Matt Preston, is a spin-off of the network's popular Masterchef series and will pit established chefs against one another in a series of culinary challenges. It will air Sunday 20th January 2013.

Fiat Chrysler Group's (FCG) car portfolio includes brands such as Chrysler and Jeep.

The company's Asia Pacific brand marketing director Sam Tabart said: “This exciting new sponsorship is huge win for the company, complimenting our already healthy portfolio of assets.

"Cooking is an art, one that requires dedication, attention to detail and innovation – skills FCG are also committed to delivering.

“We’re thrilled to be aligned with the new Masterchef format which is set to be even more vibrant than the original series. Masterchef: The Professionals provides a great platform to take our vehicles into the homes of hundreds of thousands of Australian consumers every night."
