David Holmes enlisted as AIMIA boss

David Holmes is AIMIA's new chief executive.

Digital industry body AIMIA has appointed David Holmes as its new chief executive, replacing John Butterworth who left in June after nine years at the helm.

Holmes was most recently chief executive officer at CarAdvice.com.au. He remains on the board while Justin Whelan has been promoted to the top job. Holmes has over 17 years experience in the digital industry.

AIMIA president and joint managing director of digital and technology agency reactive, Tim O'Neill, said: “David brings to AIMIA rock solid digital media experience and a deep understanding of growth and innovation within the digital industry.

"He has overseen some exceptional successes during his career and I am excited about the great direction and vision he will bring to AIMIA in his new role.”

Recruitment firm Harvey Nash handled the position.
