David Droga, founder and creative chairman of Droga5, has picked up a new award in Sydney, the 2012 Advance Global Australian Award for Creative Services.
The non-profit community of global Australians aiming to make a difference for Australians, Australian companies and Australia around the globe, Advance is essentially devoted to the exchange of knowledge, connections and ideas to inspire and empower other global Australians to succeed. It aims to build entrepreneurial Australian companies globally, to grow global career opportunities and to create opportunities to be a ‘brain resource’ for Australia.
Droga said he was blessed to have built his whole career on being a daydreamer.
“There isn't an industry or problem in the world that can't be made better by strategic and creative thinking,” he said. “If we can influence that even a tiny bit I want to be a part of that. Creativity for a greater good is a pretty amazing opportunity.”
Advance utilises the collective goodwill and experience of its members combining them in a resource of ideas, advice, inspiration and opportunities via its virtual meeting place.
Built on a public-private partnership model spanning over 90 countries, Advance has outposts in New York, San Francisco, Hong Kong and London. Together with the Australian government and the private sector, it works to turn the one million Australians overseas into a powerful knowledge network and resource.
Financial support is provided by federal and select state governments, donors and corporate partners
The awards celebrate Australians living overseas, who exhibit remarkable talent, exceptional vision, ambition and who are future leaders and innovators in their chosen field.
The Advance Innovation Program, Advance TV, Advance Angels, Advance Global Summits and Advance Global Networking Events are all initiatives that work towards the ongoing realisation of support and resources for Australian talent around the world.
