Auckland creative shop Colenso has been named the most effective agency in the Asia Pacific region at the Apac Effies. Whybin TBWA Sydney was named the third most effective agency in the region at the awards held in Singapore last night.

Australian agencies took home 18 of the 56 awards, New Zealand took eight, with Colenso BBDA taking the lion's share of the latter.

Whybin TBWA Sydney won two golds for Car Creation for IAG. The agency though, will not be creating more work for the insurer after exiting the pitch this week. The only other Australian agencies to take gold was McCann Melbourne, adding to its Dumb ways to Die haul for Melbourne Trains, along with Saatchi & Saatchi, for Getting John West to Change its Tuna for Greenpeace.

Cummins & Partners, BWM, Clemenger BBDO Sydney, Havas Worldwide Australia and The Monkeys were also awarded for effective work.

Other New Zealand winners included Barnes, Catmur & Friends, M&C Saatchi, and DraftFCB.

BBDO Worldwide was named the APAC Effie Agency Network of the Year.
