Last night Clemenger BBDO Sydney & Wrigley's cleaned up at the 20th AIMIA Awards winning five categories, including Best of the Best for project Telekinize The Rainbow. See here for full photos of the nights event.

Clemenger BBDO Sydney & Wrigley's also took home gongs for Best use of social media, Best Social Media as well as Platform Innovation.

Ben Clare, senior copywriter, at Clemenger BBDO Sydney praised the those that take risks on ideas.

"So often creatives come to digital producers with ideas that 'cannot be done' or on the surface they cannot be done," he told AdNews. "But our producer at Clemenger BBDO ran with it and made it happen and it won best of the best. You can't really complain with that.”

DT & OgilvyOne won Best of Smartphone and Tourism or Travel for its Melbourne Viewfinders work.  DT, Ogilvy and Yum! Also won category Best of Smartphone - Entertainment with work for KFC Snack! in the Face.

SBS & Northern Pictures were smiling last night, picking up Best Video and Best of Websites & Online Services - Cultural or Lifestyle for work Cronulla Riots - The Day that Shocked the Nation. SBS also took home the gong Best of Websites & Online Services – Publisher for SBS.com.au.

James Welbourne, ABC TV multi-platform producer told AdNews that the broadcasters haul of awards highlights the national broadcasters commitment to digital.

“The digital era now is coming into its own – [Play School Play Time] is a product of play school, it's not just a tag on or an edition, it wasn't just something that was an afterthought, it was actually a Play School production which included all of the staff, which is what made it so great.

"Everyone will agree that digital is the future, if it's not the present right now, so its definitely a priority for the ABC."

Foxtel's Go 2013 won Video Publisher & Platform while Westpac Banking Corporation won the Best Enterprise. Pusher bagged two wins in Best Social Media and Best Cross Platform for work on Lorna Jane - Active Living.

Sandra Davey was presented with the Outstanding Contribution honours.

Other winners included 2and2 & ESA, Outware Mobile and Snap Send Solve, ABC and Gomeeki, BCM, Deepend, Adrenalin Media and Reactive.

AIMIA CEO, David Holmes said: “The 20th AIMIA Award winners were exceptional. It was particularly great to see the diversity of winners with small agencies all the way though to big broadcasters taking home the trophies.

“The calibre of the work was outstanding and something all finalists should be proud of. This year, we had more entries than ever before and over 530 people turned up on the night to celebrate our vibrant industry. We’d like to thank the 200+ judges that donate significant amounts of time to make the AIMIA Awards the top digital prize in this country.”
