Banjo takes aim at 'digitally disgruntled' with new director

Banjo has appointed former McCann Worldgroup director Kevin McKay. The firm is confident of winning business from competitors with the new recruit.

A runner who represented Great Britain in the 1992 and 1996 Olympics , McKay subsequently helped his former employers win the London Olympics pitch as digital, CRM, search and media planning partner. McKay is "perfect" for the role, said Banjo partner Andrew Varasdi.

Varasdi said Banjo had no financial targets in terms of digital growth but was confident McKay would deliver. "Everybody we talk to wants to have a conversation about digital," he told AdNews. "There are a lot of disgruntled clients in that space."

"There are no goals or forecasts. We are one agency with one clientele. If we get the right people and partnerships, business will look after itself."
