AdNews wraps up the biggest pitch news and wins from the last fortnight.

Shell Energy up for pitch

Shell Energy, the petroleum company's renewables and energy solutions business Australia, is pitching its creative account, AdNews revealed. 

Brisbane creative, branding and digital marketing agency Nous has been working alongside Shell Energy to deliver its campaigns, including its Net Zero work, for 2022. 

Nestlé switches to GroupM from UM

The world’s largest food and beverage company Nestlé Oceania has appointed OpenMind powered by GroupM as its media agency in ANZ.

GroupM triumphed in the three-way shortlist including incumbent agency IPG's UM housed out of Sydney and Publicis Groupe's Starcom.

In September, Nestlé appointed a bespoke WPP agency OpenMind to the European arm. This will be replicated in ANZ

Maurice Blackburn Lawyers pitches media

Social justice law firm Maurice Blackburn is pitching its media account, AdNews revealed.

The incumbent is Melbourne independent agency Half Dome which has serviced the account since August 2021 when it acquired independent media agency Consumedia.

hipages is pitching creative

Australian online tradie marketplace hipages has pitched its creative account, AdNews revealed. 

The pitching process has just closed and the account is now under review. 

The creative business was held by VCCP from 2016 to 2021, before the agency closed its Sydney office in December 2022. 

Half Dome wins Online Education Services pitch

E-learning provider Online Education Services (OES) has appointed Melbourne independent agency Half Dome as its media agency after a pitch, AdNews revealed.

In November, AdNews reported the shortlist included incumbent Mediabrands, Havas Media and one other.

The account is said to be worth $35M.

New Zealand government restructures advertising accounts with tender

The New Zealand government's advertising and creative account is open for tender, AdNews confirmed.

And for the first time the government is combing its Design Services and Advertising Services accounts, now known as the AoG Creative & Media Services contract, before the expiry of the current contracts in June 2024.

Nova pitches media account

Audio entertainment business Nova is pitching its media account, AdNews revealed.

Industry insiders say final presentations happened two weeks ago with a decision to been made shortly.

Incumbent Carat has held the account since winning the last pitch in 2017. IPG's Mediabrands held the account prior to that.

DuluxGroup media account up for pitch

Manufacturer DuluxGroup has put its master media account out to pitch, AdNews confirmed.

The account includes media strategy, planning and buying across all brands including Dulux Paints (including British Paints), Woodcare (including Cabot’s), Selleys, Yates and B&D Doors.  

Industry insiders say incumbent OMD, plus GroupM’s EssenceMediacom and IPG’s Initiative have been invited to pitch.

Red Bull creative account to Akcelo

Independent creative agency Akcelo has won energy drink company Red Bull’s creative account after a competitive pitch.

Industry insiders say the pitch was a four way shoot-out with Special Australia, HERO and Howatson+Company also involved.

Zenith wins Autosports Group pitch

Leading luxury car dealership Autosports Group has appointed Zenith Australia to manage its media strategy, planning and buying account, following a competitive pitch.

Autosports, established in 2006, has grown to become one of Australia’s largest prestige car dealership networks with more than 55 retail businesses across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Auckland.

Match & Wood wins InstantScripts pitch

Independent Match & Wood has been appointed media agency of record for Wesfarmers-owned online healthcare provider InstantScripts, following a competitive pitch.

The $9 million account was previously held by Hearts & Science. 

The pitch was contested by two agencies holding accounts with Wesfarmer brands.

Resolution Digital wins El Jannah pitch

OMG's digital-first agency Resolution Digital has been appointed to Lebanese fast food chain El Jannah's media and SEO accounts, following a competitive pitch.

El Jannah head of marketing Adam Issa said this collaboration marks a significant milestone in the El Jannah journey, enhancing the brand's presence and digital footprint.

Resolution Digital wins a2 Milk global website pitch

The a2 Milk Company (a2MC) has partnered with OMG's digital-first marketing agency Resolution Digital as its dedicated global website agency, following a competitive pitch process.

a2MC's range includes fresh a2 Milk, a2 Platinum infant milk formula and a2 Milk powders.

Bohemia wins Fever-Tree pitch

Media agency Bohemia has been appointed to manage the media account for Fever-Tree Australia after a competitive pitch.

Fever-Tree operates in both the on premise and retail sectors with a portfolio of mixers including tonic, sodas, cola, gingers and cocktail mixers.

Claxon wins cosmetic clinics brand Sisu

Independent growth agency Claxon has been appointed digital performance agency of record for global cosmetic clinics brand Sisu Clinic, following a competitive pitch.

The strategic partnership marks a great move for both Claxon and Sisu Clinic, combining Claxon’s digital solutions with Sisu’s commitment to excellence in aesthetic services, ahead of further global expansion.

Richards Rose appointed to Team Global Express

Logistics solutions company Team Global Express has appointed Richards Rose as its brand creative agency. 

Richards Rose has been tasked with developing the master-brand strategy and marketing communications for Team Global Express ANZ. 

Independent Yango wins three

Independent media agency Yango has added three clients, including student accommodation provider Scape, health insurer CBHS Health and e-commerce fashion retailer EVERAU.

The Brand Agency wins Tourism WA account

Tourism Western Australia has awarded The Brand Agency a long term creative services contract to continue bringing Walking On A Dream to the world.

The contract will be in place for up to five years. Tourism WA and The Brand Agency worked together to launch the highly successful Walking On A Dream destination brand for Western Australia in September 2022.
