Charlie Hebdo responds to Paris Attacks

As the first anniversary of the attacks on French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo approaches, the title has weighed in on last week's Paris Attacks. In its first issue since the terror attacks in Paris, which claimed the lives of at least 129 people, its cover reads: “They have weapons. F**k them. We have champagne”.

Award for copywriter who died in Paris attack

A Renault ad by Publisic Conseil has won gold in the Epica Awards this week In Berlin, Germany. After the voting concluded, the judges were informed it had been written by French copywriter Fabrice Dubois, who was tragically killed in the terrorist attacks in Paris last Friday.

The ad titled “Go Anywhere, Go Everywhere” took first place in the animation category of the awards night, and was recognised for its high energy, fun graphics and the use of Beck Song, 'Sexx Laws.'

The two dozen global ad journalists in the jury were told only after the votes were cast that the ad was written by Dubious to ensure the voting integrity of the international awards.

Friends and colleagues have created a fundraising campaign for his wife Alexia.

Switch Media moves to tackle adblocking

Switch Media has launched a product aimed at reducing adblocking.

The Australian-based online video streaming service said AdEase will help broadcasters and advertisers maximise revenue from ad viewing by making it harder to isolate and block an ad.

Touting the product, Switch Media said it “stitches” ads into entertainment and sporting programs, delivering a continuous stream and eliminating buffering in ad breaks.
