VMLY&R has been appointed by Pizza Hut Australia as its creative agency.

Pizza Hut has experienced significant development and growth over the past 24 months, in line with an increasing consumer appetite for delivered meals, contactless options and ‘grab and go’ convenience.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have Pizza Hut as a key VMLY&R client,” VMLY&R chairman Jon Bird says.

“It’s a privilege to work with such an iconic brand.”

VMLY&R is tasked with helping build on this momentum in a new delivery landscape forever changed by COVID-19.

Adam Searle will lead the account in the newly created role of creative business partner.

“Our ambition is very clear: get Pizza Hut Australia right back to number one,” PizzaHut chief executive officer Phil Reed says.

“We’re looking forward to working with Adam and the VMLY&R team to help us drive further brand and sales growth.”

VMLY&R’s first retail campaign for Pizza Hut, Unreal Deals, features the return of the iconic 90’ Pizza delivery poster boy, Dougie, played by actor Diarmid Heidenreich.

He appeared in Pizza Hut’s advertising between 1993 and 1996.
