Network Ten chief executive Grant Blackley has been appointed chief executive of Ten Network Holdings, the ASX listed parent company of the network.

Blackley will remain in the top job at Ten, while its out-of-home sister company, Eye Corp, will continue to be overseen by chief executive Gerry Thorley.

Blackley takes over responsibility from former executive chairman Nick Falloon, who resigned in November.

The appointment is the latest in a series of changes to happen at the company since James Packer bought up nearly 18% of the company in October. He later sold half to Lachlan Murdoch, with both men agreeing to take up positions on the board of directors. Packer's investment was followed by mining heiress Gina Rinehart taking an almost 10% stake in the business in November, joining Packer and Murdoch on the board.
