Videology blocks $2.4m in wasted ad spend

Videology has blocked more than 28 billion bot requests globally on video advertising campaigns, equivalent of US$533 million in wasted in ad spend since integrating with White Ops, a pioneer in invalid traffic detection and prevention in 2015. Of the 28 billion, over 87 million of those blocked bot requests were within Australia, since the integration launch in August 2015, equivalent to a AUD$2.34 million saving in wasted ad spend.

Mobile experienced record growth in Q1, says TubeMogul

TubeMogul revealed that advertisers are rapidly embracing mobile video advertising opportunities, with mobile continuing to show growth and usage. In the Q1 figures, 22% of all campaigns involved a mobile component. Desktop was down marginally from Q1 2015 but still accounts for significant scale at 251M available impressions daily. The mix of 15-second and 30-second ads has changed over time. This quarter saw an all-time high for 15-second spots on desktop which accounted for 66% of placements. See the full report here.

ABC appoints head of radio and regional marketing

ABC has appointed Jocelin Abbey as its head of radio and regional marketing. Her new role will involve overseeing marketing activities for the complete suite of ABC radio properties and several digital-only stations. Abbey joins from a role at Yahoo7 as head of consumer marketing and PR. She has previously worked at Universal Music and Nova Entertainment.

Adobe is expanding VR and AR capabilities within Adobe Primetime, with ad insertion, DRM and playback. Integration across the Adobe Marketing Cloud will enable brands to tap into Adobe Analytics. With close measurement of user activity and the ability to produce actionable insights, brands can ensure they are meeting user expectations and delivering an experience that’s personalised to individual tastes. Brand New Media sells assets

Brand New Media is selling its assets and trade mark as it prepares to close its doors. The content marketing company was placed into administration last month. Brand New Media helped establish shopping channel 4me and HealthyMeTV with Seven West Media.

Ad-Roller launches across 27 sites

Ad-Roller has had its busiest period since launch with tactical out of home (OOH) campaigns running across the handrails of 27 escalators and travelators in May. The business currently has access to 140 shopping centres nationwide since launching two years ago.
