Network Ten has hired Melbourne-based media advertising sales guru Darren Anderson as its new commercial sales director for major franchises.

Anderson hails from Lifestyle Rewards, which specialises in rewards programs and incentive marketing programs. He is currently CEO and commercial director at the Village Roadshow owned company.

Anderson will take on the newly created role on 10 November and will will report to Network Ten chief sales officer, Louise Barrett.

As former group national advertising director at ACP Magazines (now Bauer Media) and a former manager of brand communications for South-East Asia and Australia at Sportsworld Media, Network Ten said this makes Anderson one of the most experienced media advertising sales executives in Melbourne.

“Darren will be a real asset to our sales team and will bring to Network Ten a deep understanding of both the Melbourne and national markets,” Barrett said.

“We have created this new role after identifying an opportunity for an experienced, senior sales person to take responsibility for the total revenue of our key franchise programs, including MasterChef Australia, The Bachelor Australia, The Living Room, I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and Shark Tank.”

Anderson will be based in Melbourne, but will spend a lot of his time with Network Ten's clients and sales teams in all markets.

“I’m looking forward to returning to mainstream media and, in particular, to joining Network Ten,” Anderson said.

“It’s a great time for the network and the opportunity to work across some great content is exciting.”
