Independent media agency MediaSmiths has been appointed to the Queensland industry body Master Plumbers’ Association of Queensland (MPAQ).

MPAQ is the peak industry body representing plumbing contractors throughout Queensland and national level, including sole operators, medium-sized plumbing businesses and large-scale operations.

MediaSmiths will manage both offline and digital campaigns for the association. Kicking off the MPAQ account win is the launch of a new, multi-channel campaign aimed at creating awareness for Queensland homeowners on the importance of using a licensed plumber to ensure work is compliant and safe, and using MPAQ’s “Find a Plumber” search tool to search for a licensed plumber.

MediaSmiths business director, Mike Smith, said: “We’re looking forward to working with the MPAQ team to create media campaigns that promote, inspire, and bring important attention to important plumbing sector issues.”

“Our new campaign for the association is an important one – building a greater awareness of the need to use a licensed plumber, drainer, or gasfitter is critical to the safety and well-being of the general public. We’re looking forward to bringing this important safety message to life through a multi-channel media strategy,” Smith said.

MPAQ executive director, Penny Cornah, said: “We’re excited to create campaigns that promote the use of licensed plumbers, drainers, and gasfitters. A lot of people don’t realise that most plumbing, drainage, and gas work must be completed by someone with a licence, and not doing so may lead to your insurance being voided or dodgy work being performed.”

The MPAQ appointment comes on the back of several recent client wins for MediaSmiths, including national homecare provider Just Better Care, the Australian Dental Association, and Odoo.
