Marge Simpson the new face of MAC makeup

By Rebecca Chambers | 9 September 2014

Itchy & scratchy & sexy, Lisa’s spikes and Apple squishee, these are just a few of the colours that feature in MAC’s new collaboration with the Simpson’s. Coinciding with the show’s 25th anniversary, the new line goes bold on colours inspired by the iconic characters. Yes, yellow and blue.

MAC has previously collaborated with Rihanna, the Disney Franchise and Dita Von Teese. Now Marge Simpson is the makeup brand’s new poster girl. The line includes eye shadow in Beehive blue, lip-gloss in Nacho Cheese explosion (nice) and nail stickers featuring full colour sketches of the characters. It can only be purchased in MAC stores or off the website.

While this collaboration is sure to draw Simpson’s and Mac fans alike, another Simpson’s collaboration is not going so swimmingly. Springfield’s favourite beverage, Duff beer reached our shores back in May, but has already been pulled from our shelves. It was found to be in breach of the Alcohol Beverages Advertising Code, due to its entrenchment in pop culture and its appeal to children. It’s a bittersweet time for Simpson’s fan, but nothing that a bit of Nacho lip-gloss can’t fix.
