KFC launches AR mobile game The Great Bucket Hunt

Fast food giant KFC has launched a mobile-based adventure game with augmented reality (AR), The Great Bucket Hunt.

The free game, available inside the KFC app, offers prizes including food, sports, food experiences and cash. 

Players can search for virtual buckets placed all over the country using the Bucket Map.

They can then spin them using AR to see what they have won and add them to their stash.

Fellow "bucket-hunters" can snap up virtual buckets in front of other players' eyes.

“We’re so excited to launch The Great Bucket Hunt for the first time to give Australians the chance to play and win big with a tasty selection of prizes," KFC Australia chief marketing officer Kristi Woolrych says.

"We know our fans go crazy for our food, and so our prizes are made up of delicious Kentucky Fried Chicken, KFC bucket list experiences, as well as a number of cash prizes, with everyone walking away a winner.

"We hope our fans make the most of The Great Bucket Hunt by venturing out and finding the hidden buckets!”

The Great Bucket Hunt is available on Android or iOS via the KFC App from Tuesday, June 15, until Monday, July 12, across Australia.
