RMIT’s student-run advertising talk show, Hungry Talks, is back for its third instalment in the series with Barbie Vs Oppenheimer.

This episode looked at the marketing machine of the Barbie movie, and how brands are elevating TikTok and social media content.

Joining them in the studio was Bec Robertson, managing partner, and Sasha Smith, chief media officer, from Howatson + Company.

Discussions revolved around all things TikTok, and the recent campaign by Howatson + Company for Modbodi which focused on empowering people with periods to practise good self-care around menstruation in a fun and first of its kind TikTok episodic series: ‘I’m Dying Inside.

The show also featured an interview with emerging clothing label Acaerr designer and founder Claudio Palmeri.

Two final year advertising students, Jackson Sharpe and Tom Burt, also guest-starred this week.

Next week, Hungry Talks will be looking at Diversity in Advertising with live guests Belle Kwan, account director and multicultural story-teller, and Andy Lima, group head of creative at CultureVerse as part of ThinkHQ.

Also joining Kwan and Lima will be John Burgess, CEO and director of strategy, and Kelsey Dubar, marketing & events manager at Little Rocket; and Valeria Mejia and Amber McLindin, final year RMIT advertising students.

Book here, or watch the show live on Wednesdays at 5.30pm here.
