Swarovski has appointed Havas Media as its global media agency, covering media planning, buying, social and programmatic. The account, previously with ZenithOptimedia for the past nine years, will hand over to Havas in January 2017, Ad Age reports.

Havas will carry out media duties for Swarovski in 35 countries, including the jeweller's main markets of the US, UK and China, as well as Australia and major markets across Europe, Asia and the Americas.

Ad Age reports Swarovski's global media spend is about US$60 million.

"As part of our commitment to the ongoing improvement of our media and marketing governance, Swarovski periodically evaluates all marketing service suppliers to ensure we maintain the best working relationships with the best agency partners,” says Alessandro Vergano, Swarovski's SVP branding, communication and media.

"[Havas Media's] strategic proposal was exactly what we need to help us achieve our goals as we move into our next phase of business development. We are confident that we have found the right partner to deliver strategic support, operational set-up and digital transformation."
