Havas Media and Havas Red have won the respective media and PR accounts for Avis Budget Group, AdNews reveals.

The car hire company started working with Havas in 2018 firstly with PR, while Ikon handled media, creative and strategy

Havas will handle the Avis, Budget, and Apex brands for the next three-years, providing integrated digital performance, partnership activation and media amplification while Havas Red will lead earned PR in Australia.

While Havas Host handles the creative account, which has worked with the business on a project basis since late 2019.

While the pitches were individual processes with up to six 6 agencies involved in each, Avis Budget gravitated to the Village model, Virginia Hyland, CEO of Havas Media, told AdNews.

"It's a great win for the Havas Village," Hyland said.

"We are thrilled to continue on the journey and for the client to realise there really isn’t anyone in agency land quite like Havas.”

Shane Russell, Havas Red CEO, said Avis Budget Group paves the next wave of innovation in the travel and transportation spaces.

"With that comes a tremendous opportunity for our team to craft evolving narratives and connect each brand to customers and partners through earned media activities,' Russell said.

The brands last campaign via Havas Host, focusing on its Driven By Better brand platform, features a couple gliding gracefully on a travellator through an airport terminal, bypassing the surrounding chaos.
