GroupM senior promotions and hires across performance and programmatic

GroupM announced senior promotions and hires across Performance and Programmatic as it bolsters specialist capabilities in priority growth areas.

Steve Wood, formerly General Manager of GroupM Programmatic, has been promoted to General Manager of GroupM Services – Performance.

He will lead and strengthen capabilities in programmatic, search, social and adops to better serve clients and empower the team with skills and opportunities. 

He has 15 years’ experience across digital including search, social, programmatic, and has overseen a period of significant growth for GroupM Programmatic and Xaxis, most recently winning Gold and being recognised as Campaign Asia’s 2021 Programmatic Agency of the Year.

Nick Brignell, formerly GroupM Programmatic National Head of Client Development, has been promoted to take on an expanded role as General Manager, Specialty Business.

He’ll remain based in Melbourne and work across programmatic business Xaxis and GroupM’s pipeline of Specialty Businesses. These include Sightline, Australia’s largest Digital OOH marketplace combining the scale and impact of OOH with digital’s precision and flexibility, launched by GroupM earlier this year, and on the local development of INCA, GroupM’s AI-powered influencer marketing business.

Terri Owens, formerly Mindshare Head of Product Design, has been named as Head of Operations. With a strong background in client-centric tech, product, and project management, Owens will work closely with Brignell and Chief Tech & Transformation Officer Ryan Menezes to ensure the growth roadmap is delivered effectively and efficiently and provides great results for clients, and teams.
