Industry figures are leading the way in getting vaccinated against COVID-19, many of them announcing the occasion of double vax via social media. AdNews asked them about their motivation and experiences.

I’m not one to get the flu shot every year (yes, silly I know) as I’m terrified of needles, but I never thought twice about getting vaccinated for COVID.

COVID has decimated so many industries and has had a catastrophic impact on Out-of-Home, in particular Transit. I felt getting vaccinated was important not only for the wider community but also the only option for getting back to business!

As a volunteer surf lifesaver, I received my shots early at the mass vaccination hub in Homebush which runs like a well-oiled machine (highly recommended!). A credit to NSW Health as well as the phenomenal support from the NSW Police and ADF.

Like a lot of businesses in Australia, our recovery and getting back on track (pardon the pun) is totally dependent on people being out and about, out of home. Our team is all too aware of this which is why we’ve been so diligent in the creation and maintenance of our COVID safe plans implemented internally as well as with the many contractors and transport partners we work closely with.

I miss face to face meetings with our team and our clients and can’t wait to be back in the office (and maybe even sometimes the pub!).  I’m most proud of the TorchMedia team for their resilience during this time, and their enthusiasm around vaccination.

Every day we celebrate getting closer to our national and state vaccination targets, and in a milestone of our own, 100% of TorchMedia staff have received at least one jab!
