Droga5 declines Virgin pitch

SYDNEY: Droga5 Sydney, V Australia's incumbent creative agency, has announced it will not be participating in the creative pitch for Virgin Blue and V Australia’s combined business.

The news comes the day after AdNews reported Belgiovane Williams Mackay had pulled out of the pitch for Virgin Blue's $50 million creative account.

The decision by Droga5 leaves four agencies including Virgin Blue incumbent SapientNitro, Clemenger Group, DDB and BMF as the remaining agencies to pitch on the account.

Droga5’s creative chairman David Nobay said: “As one of our first pieces of business following our launch in 2008, V Australia has been an important part of our journey, but clearly there are new ambitions for the direction of the brand, and given the amount of fresh projects we’re dealing with right now.”

“I think our efforts are better spent developing existing relationships, rather than chasing a national creative pitch. I wish them all the best.”
