ADELAIDE: DMG Radio Australia’s group sales director Keith Thomas will not renew his contract which expires this year.
Thomas has been with DMG for 11 years and is based in Adelaide.
In 2008 Thomas helped spearhead the launch of the national sales unit DMG One http://www.adnews.com.au/E55E4F98-A732-401E-8D033371F20C059C
, which merged the Nova and Vega sales teams into a national sales representation team.
DMG yesterday http://adnews.com.au/adnews-news/nova-scraps-low-ad-clutter-rule announced it would scrap its low ad clutter rule that has been in place since 2001.
DMG was not immediately available to comment.

ADELAIDE: DMG Radio group sales director Keith Thomas has decided to leave the radio network after 12 years.

Thomas, who is based in Adelaide, has given six months notice on his position and will continue to work with DMG on strategic projects after his departure.

DMG chief executive officer Cathy O'Connor said the radio network would retain the group sales director role and was currently recruiting for the position.

O'Connor expected the new group sales director would be based in Sydney.

"That's preferable and makes a lot of sense. The position does involve a lot of domestic travel, and it's a high priority that the group sales director is out and about with agencies talking about our brands," she said.

On whether a Sydney-based group sales director would change the structure of the DMG sales teams, O'Connor said, "It's something we'd be open to talking about with the new group sales director, and I will be interested to see how the new person views things and open to improving what we do."

News of his departure comes in the same week that DMG announced it would scrap its low ad clutter rule, that has been in place since 2001.

In 2008, Thomas helped spearhead the launch of the national sales unit DMG One, which merged the Nova and Vega sales teams into a national sales representation team.
